Why Does Cadre Collect Personal Information?
As a candidate using Cadre’s services, you are asked to provide certain pieces of information in order for Cadre to provide you with the best possible service. In addition to your contact details, your resume, and a description of the type of work you are looking for, your file may include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- interview notes
- information obtained through reference and background checks
- educational records
- reference letters
- skill-testing results
For temporary staffing arrangements, Cadre also requires the following information, in order to provide payroll services:
- banking details
- social insurance number
- tax deductions
- date of birth
At Cadre, your information is important to:
- understand your qualifications, needs and preferences
- determine the best job opportunities that will give you the job satisfaction you are looking for
- fulfill clients’ requests for information about candidates
- provide payroll and other human resources functions for temporary staffing arrangements
Cadre never collects more personal information than is needed to fulfill these purposes, unless requested by the client and consented to by the candidate.
When Does Cadre Disclose Personal Information and to Whom?
Personal information is never traded, sold or leased by Cadre to any external companies. Candidate information is only disclosed for Cadre’s legitimate business purposes or as required to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
In the normal course of business and with your prior consent, Cadre may disclose personal information to its clients when we believe there is potential for job placement. As a candidate, you are relying on Cadre to share only the information necessary for companies to make an informed decision regarding a candidate. Furthermore, Cadre may share information with its affiliates, partners, contractors, or other companies (collectively “representatives”) that Cadre is or may become associated with to provide full recruitment services. However, Cadre will only disclose limited information as required for the function to be performed by the representative on Cadre’s behalf.
Examples of companies Cadre may share your limited personal information with include:
- organizations that perform background checks including criminal, educational, and credit checks as required by a client
- outsourced payroll service providers for temporary staffing arrangements
- other recruitment firms with whom Cadre has or may have strategic alliance
Have You Consented?
Having read this Policy, and by accepting Cadre’s services and providing the Company with your personal information, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as specified herein.
Wherever possible, and when necessary, Cadre will obtain your express consent for particular uses and disclosures. For example, Cadre will seek your express written consent before releasing your information to a third party for the purpose of conducting a background check.
Your consent is implied if Cadre believes to be using your personal information for purposes that are obvious to you. For example, if you list the names and phone numbers of your previous employers on your resume for reference checking purposes, Cadre will not seek your express consent before checking these references.
How Long is Personal Information Retained?
Cadre retains personal information as long as you use its placement services, or longer if required by law. For contractors, this means Cadre will retain all personal information as long as the contractor remains on Cadre’s payroll, and for seven years thereafter, as required by law. For permanent placements, Cadre will retain personal information for a minimum of one year following acceptance of the permanent employment position.
